This page explains the rules every guide on Tradies Compass is held to. If a page breaks one of them, that is a mistake we want to fix.
The sourcing rule
A number appears on this site only when we can link to where it came from and show the date we checked it. We go to primary sources: certifying bodies for certification requirements, government statistics for pay and employment, and the program provider’s own published pages for cost and length.
Dates on every page
Each guide shows a “Facts verified” date. When we re-check a page, the date changes. If a figure has not been re-checked, you can see that from the date.
Independence
No school pays for placement and nobody can buy a recommendation here. If that ever changes, this page and the affiliate disclosure will say so before it does.
Corrections
If you find an out-of-date figure or an error, tell us and we will check it against the source and update the page.
